Capped off with the worst word possible: Vauxhall.

We also have that one as Opel Insignia. Not bad, although I have a strong dislike towards the Opel brand.

But I don't know if this was sold here with a manual. There are currently 2 on the local used car website (+1 of the non-OPC, 260 bhp versions), and all of them are auto.

Also, there is very little space inside. An average compact has more legroom in the back row.

Sometimes I think it would've been better had GM just gone bankrupt and sold its assets a few years ago. I think I suffer from an irrational but innate dislike of GM vehicles. My brief stint last year in a current gen Astra (to the Americans: Verano) reinforced this dislike. The Opel Adam I had for a weekend wasn't very convincing either. GM produces decent enough vehicles, but there's just no unique selling point at all. Whatever you look for and whatever your preferences are, there's always a better offer from a competitor.

/European market perspective and I didn't see the video because I'm at work.

I've actually seen one. There was a whole test fleet of GM cars debadged and in partial camo. I'll have to dig up the SR20 but it was about a year ago.

I'm correcting myself....I saw a fleet of Holdens- In the US. Not sure if it is the same car as the Vauxhall.

Could be. They came over to the US as Buicks, but without the AWD.

Not sure if Holden got them though. It'd make sense as a car below the Commodore.

It's definitely not the most appealing marque.

Still, it has its fans, and the VXR versions are at least bloody quick. Not my cup of tea though.

I have to agree with you. I had an '02 Corsa as a first car, and I've done small stints in the latest gen Corsa and Astra. They're both alright cars, but they don't seem particularly compelling. The Astra looks great, and I'd like to try the VXR/OPC version to see what it's like, but that's about it.

I get the distinct feeling that I'd feel my soul steadily draining away if I was forced to DD a normal Corsa or Astra, regardless of what the current ads on TV say (Corsa: put the fun back into driving. Yeah, I don't think so).

Yeah, I think the Opel and Vauxhall lineups are completely interchangeable. Not sure how many they've sold with a manual though. I'd be willing to bet not all that many.

Is this not just a Saab Sportcombi TurboX? With 1 more turbo?

Well everyone hates Buicks over here so there's that. They don't give us AWD or that engine either.

It's the same platform and engine as the Turbo X (as well as the new 9-5), but it was changed radically by Saab. To the point where there was very little that was interchangeable between them.

The Turbo X was twin turbo as well :)

Nah Turbo X was single turbo.

Huh. So it does. I always thought it was a twin-turbo.

It is the same GM family of engines though.
